At that something. It makes sense though, someone who life is science, would find a life of music a waste of life.

I think the problem is that Spock could see Charlie's potential and he felt that he wasted it. Charlie on the other hand felt like a freak of sorts. He felt rejected by Spock whom he looked up to. He wasn't accepted by those older classmates who were his peers.
If only the two of them had realized that both of them were dealing with rejection and banded together....
More to come soon.

Interesting. I guess I understand Spock's reaction a little better now. Poor Spock, always looking for validation from others.

Spock was hoping that Charlie's visit to Vulcan would be a step in the right direction and perhaps the two of them would find that they had a lot in common. He was still dealing with the rejection of his peers and he wanted them to see that a human could be brilliant and logical, but Charlie failed miserably. It was a major let down for Spock and the 'band' thing was just icing on the cake. More to come soon!

I can understand Bones taking Charlie's side, but Kirk?! C'mon they've known Spock for how long and automatically assume he is the problem. I'm getting annoyed just hearing about Charlie's past behavior and I didn't have to live through it!

I realize there is no right or wrong side, but I don't understand why no one is trying to see things from Spock's perspective.

Jim is really not taking sides. He's just trying to be a referee of sorts. Remember Spock walked out and then Jim told Charlie that he wanted them to reconcile. After Charlie told his side of the story Jim didn't comment one way or the other, but he just went on to the bridge while Bones walked Charlie to his quarters. Jim is really trying to be neutral. I am sure he wants to hear Spock's side before he makes a move. Bones is just being Bones, but Jim being Spock's friend is going to try to be there for him. After all, he just met Charlie. Thanks! More to come soon.

Hopefully Spock will come to appreciate Charlie's genius in music instead of thinking it a waste of his time...after a whole lot of funny things happen first, of course! LOL!!!

Oh I am sure that they are going to see each others' point of view, but of course (hee hee) some things will happen before we reach that point!

Wow, what an original story! I LOVE it. I love the photos you've used to illustrate "Cousin Charlie." Nimoy was cute in the 60's & 70's!
