RAMADAN fell on August this year. For those who don't know, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Its a 30 day period of fasting - for adherents of Islam to focus on spiritual reflection rather than worldly activities. Last Wednesday I accompanied the Mossawa tour, once again, on their bus ride to the Golan. We traversed on winding roads through the greenest hills I have seen in Israel. On a two lane highway, hugging the mountain to our left, we had a bird's-eye view of all around us.
