Simple things that make me happy:

• I have wanted a new kitchen trash can for at least four years. I finally bought one a couple of weeks ago, and you would laugh at how much pleasure I derive from putting things into it.

Oh, I saw a kitchen island in the crate and barrell magazine the other day and mentioned to Dre that it might be one you'd like. I'm glad to hear you found one. I'm glad you two guys found each other too. :)

Oh yes, I like that island a lot. I would've gotten it, actually, but the one that we ordered has a narrow vertical cabinet for baking sheets and boards and such. That's pretty high on my priority list.

Did you see the silicone baking stuff at C&B? I am considering getting some, mostly to freeze food. I read something from a university that said you shouldn't freeze food in plastic because it can cause illness, just as microwaving with plastic does. (I'll have to track down the reference.) I'm also going to get some more glass storage for leftovers.
