Awww this was so sad. Love Gertie, although I had a feeling this was coming. Only way to get Arizona off the island. Great chapter, even if it was heartbreaking!

Def a really sad chapter, I'm really even sadder to know that this is the second to last I'm not ready for it to finish! Gertie was one hell of a woman I loved her character hard as nails but a heart of gold and she loved Arizona something fierce I hope Arizona takes her last advice and really lets go of everything, it's time to move forward now with Callie by her side but I'll be sad if she decides to leave the island I've became strangely attached to it lol and I can't see Arizona living anywhere else

So the Colonel showed up and for the life of me I cannot remember the story with Arizona and her father...Is there one?? They haven't been in contact for a long time right???

Actually....I think there's two more chapters.....but we'll see how it all pans out.

Arizona had a falling out with her dad during the whole thing with Joanne and her mother's death. He in a way blamed her for putting her relationship with Joanne above her family and she wasn't available to help her mother through her grief. He was grieving as well and he tried to make up with her early on, but she had already shut down.

I was about to apologize for being absent and explain why when I read this and started sobbing like I was just losing my own Aunt Gertie,, I told you I wanted my own.. this is so so sad.. I loved her character because she was just so real so no b.s., I loved that she was gay and proud and poised about it like there is nothing to it..like it should be.. Yeah I can say loved her and I have met her in my life at some point.. I loved her speech to Arizona “I need to know that you’re going to....be who you were meant to be” but the most beautiful part was when Gertie was telling her soulmate Rosa about Callie and Arizona.. like long lost friend, lover and soul mate finally being able to tell her and returning home to her.. aw , woman you are killing me. of I go to read the next chapter in hopes that my sadness over this one will ease.
