My muse has taken to the idea of writing a short mystery for publication: tonight I wrote 2400 new words to add to the 600 I started with a couple weeks ago. The story continues apace at just over half done. Two major scenes and the end remains, so I can rough that in tomorrow night and begin editing soon. sorry to hear your story is stalled, but hopefully that will soon be remedied. have you thought about writing another section of your story to get the juices flowing again? i had to write the very end before i could get the rest going in the general direction it is now. may the muse be with you, doll!

yeah, i already did that once - just kind of aborted and started in elsewhere, lol. guess it's time to do it again. i'm kinda thinking maybe i need to rework the beginning, but i don't want to take the time for that right now. blergh. blergh blergh blergh.

you can start in any place you like as many times as you need to, even if it's only a few sentences in each place, it's progress and can be connected when it needs to be. :O)

i understand your hesitation to rework the beginning when you're not in the editing phase--it's a bit much time and energy when the rest of the story can contort itself into another direction yet, but if your muse is prompting you to do so, it's worth it.
