Actually that wouldn't work on many of them, some of the top ranking officials thought they had done nothing wrong and thought they were only on trial because they lost the war (like Goering). Dr. Gilbert (i think his name was) defined evil as having no empathy, which most of them didn't, only two of them actually felt sorry for what they had done

But a nice thought none the less
