Your descriptions are so perfectly intense & intriguing & I love how the true PotC spirit is always present in your writing :]
What a truly lovely thing to say! I'm so glad you enjoyed the drabble, and I'm always happy to play my part in keeping the spirit of PotC (and Jack Sparrow!) alive through my writing!
Thank you for taking the time to read, and Comment! I appreciate it so much! :-)
So much atmosphere and characterization in so little words. Bravo!
That's the challenging thing about the drabble format: trying to tell a whole story effectively in a mere 100 words! I'm so glad you think I succeeded here!
Thank you again for your very kind Comments! I appreciate them so much! :-)
Oh baby, what a wonderful bit of spin you've given us. Could just see the whole thing, especially loved the wreckage strewn beach (too many years on the Gulf and too many 'canes...you should have seen how much of Galveston showed up down here after Ike...like whole hot tub setups, washing machines, boats and boat parts and pieces, a highway load of street/speed limit signs, and about 70 board feet of fence...).
I liked it that the magpie in our lad showed and he meandered in that direction, lured as it were by the bit of bright. I really like Jack's tender heart, the respect he shows for the dead (like coming into Port Royal) and his sense of what is polite and kind at odd moments when he's pirating his weasally black guts out. That Jack, he's something and you pictured him nigh perfect his secret heart. Ta baby and good good good to hear from you.

Thank you! I'm particularly pleased about you being able to "see" it in your mind, 'cause that's just what a writer aims for! Glad to know I "hit the target" here! :-)

Yikes! (8-o Being an inland-dweller (far inland -- the Midwest is about as far inland as you can get in the USA!), I've no first-hand experience with hurricanes or their aftermath, outside of what is shown on the TV news! Though we get plenty of tornadoes here, and of course a fair amount of flooding in the rainy months, we don't really see many hurricanes (which, when one thinks about it, must be like a tornado, rain, and flooding all rolled into one huge

I'm so gratified that you found it so! Thank you!
How like Jack to be attracted to the treasure but be interrupted by his sense of honour. A good man, indeed.
My thought exactly! In this case, the good man in Jack wins out over the self-serving pirate (as it often seems to do!). (Yay, Jack!) ;-)
Thank you so much for reading, and for taking the time to Comment! :-)
