I read "Godspeed" and just wanted to say a couple of things. First, I like the way you treated all the characters, including my favorite, Will. While I don't necessarily see this as an extension of canon, the fact is that what I write isn't canon, either - so I don't throw stones at that. *G* But it was good to read and good to see all three of them cooperating and tied together.

But then, your author's note. My mother was diagnosed last Thanksgiving with acute leukemia, and is right now getting ready to undergo tests to have a transplant. She's doing relatively well despite the heinousness of what she has yet to face and what she's already had to go through ... but I can guess pretty well how you felt. I'm sorry about your father.

Thank you so much for the comments, particularly about my treatment of the characters. I hope I did them justice. It's actually intended less to be canon than it is merely continuity to my own fiction series that starts with "Rum and Persuasion" and moves through several stories, for the most part adhering closely to canon (but, then, of course anything past AWE would be "uncharted waters" canonically anyway). I've read too many fan fics that turn Will into a total jerk to justify Jack and Lizzie's being together, and I really didn't want to go that route
