I like the huge gulf between what the narrator considers acceptable "proof".

* A record of every single transitional fossil through time (even though not everything gets fossilized when it dies)
vs.
* One line in a book (with a similarly incomplete record of its origins and mutations over time).

That needs a giant tag at the end. It's quite obviously not seriously making the surface argument, and is just snarkily making a point.
