Timone's kind of stupid when it comes to things like that. It was very difficult to get him to go down the slide at the playground. But he can't walk on his own anymore, so it's all irrelevant.
HE CAN'T WALK ANYMORE?? OMG, your poor dog! Sounds like he's on his way out. Are you going to put him to sleep? Does he have any quality of life yet? I'd like to see him again.
Uh, I'd prefer not to think about him dying, if that's all right. He's not in physical pain, but he's upset about not being able to go where he wants anymore, and he's in general really snappy unless you have treats. Basically, he's parapalegic. We have a sling that we carry his back end around when he needs to go out, and we're thinking of getting some wheels custom-made for him.

I'm probably going to have to think about doing the same for one of my dogs at least once more in my life time. I did some digging on ye old local paralyzed dachshund listserv and found this site that may be a help to you. You've got the mind of an engineer; I'm sure you can adapt these plans to Timon's exact size:
