Only two eggs were left in the fridge. Perfect for an omelette. The first one was green, as in pickle juice carry-it-outside-so-you-know-your-eyes-aren't-playing-tricks green. I decided against it. The second was okay, though I probably shouldn't have eaten it. I'll know tomorrow ( Read more... )

Did you ever watch Danger Mouse when you were a kid? One of the positives to having a mom that grew up in Ontario was that I got exposed to a lot of British TV from an early age. But before Count Duckula became a spinoff, he was a bad guy on Danger Mouse, and the onely way to get rid of a vampire duck was with a rotten egg, which, in that episode, was as green as you describe, with the green vapor trail.

Incidentally, I recently also pitched some eggs that were one day past the expiration date. I know what happens you contract salmonella, and it's supposed to be worse than norovirus. That's one of the things I don't gamble with.

Don't get me started on the aging thing. Hopefully,, by the time I'm 40, robot bodies will become available.

Ouch on gas prices. If I didn't have my Suzuki right now, I'd be screwed. $14 to fill up the tank? I remember when I first started college and $14 would overflow the tank on my old Civic. Keep me posted on what you find on the two-wheels-and-motorized front. Honestly, your best bet is going to be a ... )

Don't think I ever caught Danger Mouse, even if the images found on google look familiar. Count Duckula rocked my socks! Now it's time to find some old episodes. Good news everyone- no salmonella! Luckily I have a rather strong g.i tract.

Still haven't seen a whole lot in the bike market within my price range, at least nothing small enough to suit me. I have a feeling that finding a proper motorcycle will be like shoe shopping for me... fuck.

It was a great series- if you liked Count Duckula, you'd love it- it's got more puns.

Glad to hear you avoided Pukestorm.

Unfortunately, this is a bad time of year to be looking at starter bikes because everyone else has the same idea. Shame you're not local- I've actually been zipping around on my friend Ryan's '84 Rebel 250 (My SV650S is down for repairs)- he's selling it for $1000. You are 5'2", yes?

This should help-

All of the bikes listed here are good starter bikes. Also, if you don't mind my asking, how much are you looking to spend?

Incidentally, one of the biggest differences between bikes and cars is the feel. I know that sounds obvious, but because your own body geometry has a lot to do with how the bike handles, there's a lot to be said for a bike that "feels" right.

Not sure how you feel about this-

but the fairings help keep the wind off when it's colder out. I'll have to see if it was the same 250 motor they used in the Rebel, but I'm pretty sure it is, which makes it pretty reliable.
