The glass doors slipped open as Barry stepped into the Pokemon Center, deciding to stop his rigorous training for the day now that the night has come around. He slowly trudged his way through the cramped hallways, wanting nothing more than to collapse on a bed and pass out.

However, the room he was currently looking for wasn't his own, he was trying to find the room his good friend Lucas rented out for the night. As much as he wanted to sleep, he knew he promised to lecture Lucas on kissing, and he was never one to break a promise. What for? Simply because Barry wanted Lucas to go to his date with Dawn as a boy, but leave as a man.

Stopping right in front of Lucas' room, his fist hovered over the door as thoughts began to swirl in Barry's head. Was he the best person to give Lucas the talk that would help him cross that line? It's not like Barry had any experience in this matter, but he's seen enough stuff to at least give Lucas a push in the right direction... right?

Oh well, it's not like I can wimp out on this now. Barry nodded ( ... )

Lucas blinked his eyes open and sat up at the noise of his door being knocked. Somehow Barry even managed to make his knocks sound impatient. Amused, Lucas got up and opened the door, finding himself facing the blond. Lucas smiled and stepped aside to let him in.

"Thanks for coming Barry," he beamed, closing the door behind him. "And sorry for the, uh, short notice and the nature of the meetup."

He paused awkwardly for a moment, then sat back down. Hopefully Clefable would stay asleep for the duration of the discussion...

"Don't worry about it man, let's just make this quick, I don't have all day."

Barry let out a yawn, and immediately plopped his butt down to the floor, fighting the urge to fall asleep right here and now. As he fidgeted through the awkward silence that soon followed his arrival, he couldn't help but stare a hole through his good friend. Not only did Lucas seem quite uncomfortable, there was also something very different about Lucas... he just couldn't put his finger on it.

"So then, before I give you the rundown on kissing... how are you planning on wooing Dawn tomorrow, you sly dog?"

Lucas nodded, then blinked at Barry's sudden installation of himself to the floor. Moving from the chair to the floor across his companion to be better able to keep eye contact (and to lessen the awkwardness), Lucas settled his chin on his knees that he brought up to his chest. Barry's stare was pretty intense today, he noticed, and knotted his eyebrows nervously. Did he do something wrong already?

The beret-wearing Trainer buried his face in his knees to hide his blush at Barry's next words. "D-don't say that," he managed, voice sounding muffled. He looked back up once more, however, remembering his mother's words to look someone in the eye when you talk to them.

"But, I'm bringing flowers; I was thinking pink since that seems to be her favorite color. It's been kinda hard finding a pink flower that doesn't have a weird meaning attached to it, though," he sighed, looking wistfully over at his PNG which had a list of flower meanings displaying on its screen.
