He gave me 'R'. (Don't know if he's just handing out people's initials, or what... =^_^= )
In alphabetical order, rather than order of preference.
1) Rasputin - originally, of course, by Boney M, but on my playlist by
Turisas. It's a classic sing-along song, made so much better when it's being sung by a fur-wearing Scandinavian Viking metal band.
2) Red, Red Wine - most famously by UB40, but I have it by its composer Neil Diamond. I can't make any great claims for quality in this song, but its stood the test of time and is always worth a re-listen.
3) Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac. Giving me the R's lets me include what is probably my favourite song of all. I've never been able to explain why, but I've been listening to this song all my life, and I still love it. I've agitated in favour of naming my first daughter Rhiannon (I also think its a nice name) but it seems that won't fly with my current mate.
4) Roll on that Day - Lindisfarne. An optimistic song, and a good one to sing along to. Not one of their better known songs, but in my view one of their better.
5) Roxanne - Sting/The Police. On my playlist by Sting as a solo artist. Always reminds me of Moulin Rouge. I liked that scene. Roxanne just edged out Rock Me Amadeus for the final spot on the list. It's a better song. And I think Rasputin covers all my bases on bad but inexplicably likeable music... :)
