Is the I-94 the "are you a terrorist? yes/no" card?
I've only been to the US a couple time but when I entered the US they ripped out the card that they didn't rip the last time I left.
Just checked wikipedia ... "When departing the United States for Canada or Mexico (only), for a trip of less than 30 days, it is not required to surrender the I-94 ".
I received an I-797C today, which was basically a notice that they had received my form and payment, and providing me a receipt number which I can look up online.
Officially, my form was received by the service center on June 8th, and the current processing time for an I-102 at that processing center is 2.5 months, which has me receiving my I-94 around August 23rd. We get married on August 22nd. So depending on the I-94 being in my hands before our honeymoon seems rather unwise.

Received today (no doubt delayed in the mail due to the Independence Day long weekend), dated June 29, my replacement I-94 (on a form I-797A).
21 days to process a form, which has a stated processing time of 2.5 months. Yay!
