I'm considering a hearing aid for my left ear. The audiologist thinks correcting the 20-23 db loss in the mid-range might help me hear better and could possibly "turn down" some of the ringing in my left. I guess hearing loss on the other side might make it try to overcompensate with tinnitus more? But ... Dustin read that once you start on aids, ( Read more... )

All that snow jeez!
Do you think your sinus issue is affecting your hearing?
I know hearing aids are so expensive, even the batteries add up.

The sinus issue may be affecting my hearing a little bit, but I've had mild problems with hearing since childhood and in the process of giving birth, I spontaneously lost a good deal more hearing (probably through pushing induced diver's ear). I've only had a tiny loss since then (normal age related probably), but it compounds what was already there and tips me into hearing aid candidate.

I wonder what the weird thing is that your dr is trying to figure out. That makes me curious! Seems it's good it's not atrophic though.

I also wonder if your sinus and hearing are connected. Do you have tmj?

I didn't know about the no cell phone in court thing til I went with Ian. And yeah lawyers usually get to go first because they typically have a bunch of other courts to get to.

Well, I had nasal surgery to remove excessive adhesions that closed my nostrils completely. At the time she said she'd never seen anything like it. It was hell with the insurance company because they kept saying my surgery wasn't necessary because she didn't know what box to check. All we knew is that I was suffocating and the thick scabs would need to be removed with a scalpel. For six months after surgery, the condition seemed to not return. I got pregnant, had Alice, weaned, and ta da! It's back again ( ... )
