So after I got back from the trip, I wrote a long entry and then it was deleted before I hit save. I'll try to reconstruct what I can, but, well, certain details may have been forgotten ( Read more... )

That is so cool about the hearing aids, you getting them and the price after your insurance! I knew they were expensive, the batteries also...

Yeah, trying not to think about batteries. They only last a week and a half!

That's cute about Nascar. It's funny how they pick up on the littlest things that are going on that you assume are just 'background'.

Sounds like you both had a good trip!

Pretty cool that you can mess with settings on your iphone for the hearing aid! I never heard of that before.

Yeah, the iphone thing is newish. The audiologist has only had a few people pick that model. Apparently most clients are older and don't want the extra tech of an iphone to learn, but it's perfect for me.

I'm in love with this post, especially "kaleidoscope shell dreams" and your description of the college scene:)

Do you mean you can control the hearing aid settings on your phone? That's cool. I also lose everything so the find feature makes sense to me.

Thanks!

Yes, there is an app to download and I can tweak all the settings on the app while I'm wearing the hearing aid. There are a couple physical buttons on the device, but I don't have to use them and the app offers many more settings than can be crammed onto the physical unit. It actually seems less rude to me to glance down at my phone for a moment and say, "Just one second," than to start fiddling with my head and making faces.
