I feel stressed and sad. Prepping the house for a move, but not knowing when or where. Dustin not setting a defense date and saying he can't meet the deadlines but texting me about wanting to go to ribfest or the air show. My daughter crying constantly. The sense that I'll never be able to transition back to regular 1/2 time library work if I sub ( Read more... )

Thanks. The weather was nice so I walked to work today. The exercise and sunshine helped to clear my head some, but I think I should find a friend to talk to soon.

Ah, friends. For some reason it's really hard to make friends as an adult. I just moved to a new town so it's taking me a while to find people. You can private message me on facebook whenever you feel like venting. I'm there, seriously, a stupid amount of the time. Online friends are great because they can stay objective without getting too involved.

Exercise is good.

I totally agree. Making friends as an adult is crazy. Thanks for your Facebook offer. I'll take you up on that soon.

Thank you. I'm feeling better after a long talk with Dustin and an email session with a friend who has gone through the process of having her husband graduate with a PhD before. I just suck at uncertainty.

Is your house listed where you have to keep it very clean? We are almost at that point, yikes!

It is a lot of stress to move, maybe that is part of the sadness?

Sending you good thoughts!

No, it's not currently listed. Part of the stress is just that I have no idea when we will need to list it. Dustin *may* graduate in the fall. He will schedule his dissertation three months out and then do interviews during those three months and we will have to move.

We might be listing the house in the fall (as soon as September), but I don't want to do any work on the outside of the house past mid-June because it will be too hot, so I'm trying to cram now.

We might also be listing it in early March, but you can't get at the house outside from November-February, so stuff has to be done now.

I had a realtor walk through recently and we made a list together of things I'm trying to plow through.

We just signed with a realtor today to list! Pretty scary and exciting all at once. I need to post about it. I feel overwhelmed and scared but in a way it feels better than the waiting. I am thinking you can understand that!

Good luck!
