I think, at age 66, I am over it now, but until very recently, I felt exactly like Alice does about hotel rooms.

A new story book came out about Eloise and once I learned that you could be a little girl and live in a hotel, there was no stopping my imagination.

From the little soaps to the paper wrapped drinking glasses to the magic fairies who made your bed for you. It was all so magical and wonderful.

I had a job once that had me traveling quite a bit and staying at really upscale hotels. I was all business on the outside but once that door to my hotel room opened I was a little girl in magic land.

I kind of want to be Alice for just a little bit. :)

For real. I want to be Alice sometimes. Or my cat . . .

So sorry for the delay on this reply.
She just sounds so smart! Maybe all kinds are these days, I am not around them, but still to me - she sounds quite bright!
Kudos on your parenting.

Thanks! I try hard but I'm pretty sure she'd be smart even if I raised her in a box with a lid on it. In her class, she's one of the younger children, but she's a bit more in line with one of the girls her age and the older kids who are nearer to four. So, some of the kids are speaking in short word phrases and others, like Alice, are rambling on in paragraphs with multi-syllable words. I think they all develop at wildly different paces around 2-4. And I roll my eyes at my younger self who was panicking because she was a year and a half old and hadn't said Mama yet.
