self-conscious self promotion

For some reason I can't explain, I've been putting this post off. Not sure why because I do love the little chapbook and the blurbs make me blush. I will be in Astoria on Saturday to help promote it (and the other books Roxanne publishes). Now off to make the kid take his shower ( Read more... )

"What is so evident in Laura Vookle's is the ring of the 'quiet truth'. What would be drums and trumpets in the hands of other poets becomes the symphony of the understated in her hands. I do not mean that you will find soft-strings sugaring-over sharp edges of grief; quite the opposite. In her works grief is met in a quiet room. The discussion is civil. The sound you hear is your heart brteaking for her.

There are not harsh lights in LV's work. Still, her words do not give anything any place to hide."

THANKS! lv_prosewriter October 5 2007, 03:06:12 UTC
I'll send it on to Roxanne and you will get a free chapbook on her dime. You can back channel me the address or maybe I'll see you next Friday when we slam at the Cantab. (Win and You're In)

Your words mean a lot to me. I know all writing is a labor of love, but this one REALLY was.

And have a super B-Day party.

Thanks and I don't know. lv_prosewriter October 6 2007, 01:20:37 UTC
I always just assumed that the books selling were the regular LouderArts crew, plus the feature. I don't know what the drill is. But you may certainly buy one somehow, and I may even be there Monday to see Simone, with books in my bag.
