“I know.” He responds. I’m sorry he doesn’t say.

And the desolate way that Alex thinks about himself... He’s Alex; just a guy who should have been more to a lot of people.

and i'm glad you like my Amber, even if she isn't your Amber, because my Amber is slightly more kooked and wears sundresses and I didn't know if they wore sundresses in Iowa, but I really hope they do because she should totally wear one.

Omg this is fantastic. Why don't you write Alex more often? All the backstory was so tragic and his voice was spot on and everything about this, I just loved. And I loved the line about how everyone forgets about Avery in the shooting, because you're right, he did do a lot and it's never been discussed, except for April's passing comment about nightmares and the fact that he got angry at the college shooter. The interactions between Alex and his family, especially Amber, were so heartbreaking. You did such a good job; I'm glad waltzmatildah made you write this haha.

I sadly not have the time nor the proper words to let you know how much I loved this and how awesome and perfect and sad and on the spot and just about the right amount of twisted and raw and fucked up this fic is. Alex is so unforgiven towards himself, it gets seriously depressing, but it works because that's who he is, how he says very little but can empathize more than he lets on with the people around him.

Alex's feelings of what happened to Aaron, his interaction with sundress-wearing-with-a-protective-boyfriend Amber (and that Amber saw him on tv!), the input in Avery's messed up situation (thank you for remembering the guy pretty much saved the day back then), even Mer's small scene in here, everything worked out beautifully.

Thank you for writing such a wonderful fic! I hope you keep getting into Alex's complicated history and personality in the future! We need more people to do so (the shows certainly doesn't give us enough!)

The hurt, the hate, the emotion, the regret, the poison, the pain, the desperate need to get away from all things "Karev", as you put it, is so vivid and sharp and jagged in this story.
