Start off with your base image: (Just cropped down to 100x100 from the screencap and then sharpened once)


Then, copy and paste into a new layer a base from disappearicons set the layer mode to hard light, 100% opacity:

hard light over base gets:


Then, copy the original base layer 3 times all of them set to soft light, 100%.


Then, apply a blue gradient in a new layer, set to soft light, 100%. Duplicate the layer so you have 2.

Then, add your text. Palatino Linotype size 6.


Your layers palette should look like this:


The layer modes (from top to bottom--not including white background layer) are normal, hard light, and then the rest soft light. All 100% opacity.
