It's interesting. I've purchased alcoholic beverages at safeway 5 times. Two of those were right after getting a haircut and I was carded. The other three were at least a month away from a haircut and I was not carded.

Mysterious.

Did you control for amount of facial hair?

I believe I did. I usually go shopping in the early afternoon and shave daily, so I don't think there would be a large difference. I admittedly don't pay as much attention to my facial hair as to my top-of-head hair, though.
