We went for a little ride today.

First, we practiced circling the mounting block until Horsie was standing still and lined up. Then we walked by the sign that scared Horsie yesterday. She totally ignored it. Good girl! We walked by Kermit and Bella and practiced focusing on the ride instead of their requests for attention. Kermit and Bella thought ( Read more... )

What's her breeding? That's always a good place to start.

You will have your work cut out for you, trying to get that mane to lay over nicely!

She's a TB, but a bit more warmbloody than pure tb. Her daddy's Harry the Hat and her granddaddy is Seattle Slew. Her racing name is My Ex-Girlfriend.

Her mane is pretty spectacular, but I'm leaving that be for now. We're not going to any fashion shows anytime soon anyway.

She is amazing. I'm in love and I've never met her! You sound so happy, it's lovely.

I am. All I want to do is go back the next day and see her again.

Oh and as for the name - I'd say give it a little time. She'll let you know what she wants to be called somehow. :)

Hm, I'm so used to looking at the breeding and coming up with a show name, then getting a barn name from that. However, her pedigree is not much help, is it? Call Girl jumps out at me as a show name (which you probably don't need) but I'm not sure what that suggests for a barn name. Girlie?
Wonder why she never raced? I mean, they went to the trouble to register her and she's tattooed--usually they go on and try them at least. She's 7 years old--what has she been doing the last few years?
Might want to get a start on that mane. I brushed Acey's mane over with water almost every day for 16 years and never did get it to behave!
