Had a great time at the YMCA fundraiser yesterday. It was hosted at the Lobster Shanty. I bought 6 raffle tickets and 4 of them got drawn! First I won a bartender's black book of drinks which I gave to Robin cause she really wanted one. Two rounds later I won the same book again. Anime Boston 2009
Went to Anime Boston this weekend. It was okay. Other years have been way better. It felt off this year. Like we were waiting all weekend for the con to really start. I spent the morning sewing curtain rings on some curtains I picked up for the kitchen. They look much better than the random pieces of fabric I had draped up over the curtain rods ( Read more... ) -
I like bread!
I'm really enjoying food lately. That is, trying my hand at making bread and fixing decorative bento lunches. I'm even enjoying trying to decrease our grocery bills. I want to get some egg molds, other bento boxes, and decorative cutters. I've been challenged by a friend to make a Kakashi/Iruka (from Naruto) themed bento. I'm planning it out now. Mmmmm, ninja -
way better than candy & flowers
I gave my pookie $30 worth of gourmet chocolates (truffles and the most awesome peanut butter cups ever) and two cards (a funny one and a soppy one) today. I almost never get him anything for V-day but felt I should this time. In return he did our tax return, a load of dishes and scrubbed the nasty bathroom till it gleamed. worst credit card ever
Today I got a call from fraud protection department for Chase. Turns out there were two charges on my Amazon.com Chase card yesterday, one for .14 and one for about $25 ( Read more... ) -
does not compute
Today at work our UPS program wouldn't load. The message said to call our local help line. The location of said help line number? The "help" button on our UPS program. The one that wouldn't load.
Amazingly helpful, that.
Thankfully simply restarting the computer fixed the problem. -
bank cards
I'd like to suggest everyone call your bank and check on the status of your debit/charge card. We discovered at the supermarket last night our bank card wouldn't work. Turns out because of the recent giant credit card security breach banks are restricting use of bank cards as credit cards. We can use it at the ATM, or as a debit card (with PIN ( Read more... ) -
