i found out today that one of my former students was murdered. i read it in people magazine. i had to reread the article several times to make sure, but there it was: former student of germantown high school. people had written an article on him, naming him an outstanding single father. because of the article, readers from all over offered him

i read about him, or maybe saw it on the news, around thanksgiving but totally didn't put together germantown and your teaching there. i'm sorry honey :-( that really sucks.
