Can anyone suggest any groups that would be good places for me to just meet new people on this crazy trip called Live Journal? I will admit that I have looked into my "friends" lists, but I am looking for communities that recommend good book clubs, maybe some zen buddhism, just interesting stuff. i'm friends with rainbowswirl...

you could start a community, you might not gain a lot of friends, but the ones you do gain are usually pretty good quality (if that makes sense and doesnt sound conceited).

adding big communities to your friends list and then posting/commenting a lot usually helps in finding friends. my last dozen lj friends came from video game and music communities... just some suggestions.
