Dude, do what makes you happy. Screw everyone else and their conforming tendancies. You can't always please everyone, what matters is that you will be able to wake up in the morning (every morning) knowing that you love your job and your life, and your decisions thus far. No one can make that kind of satisfaction happen other than themselves. I wish things like this were easier for you, but I know how your dad feels about this issue. I have always thought it would be good for you especially since you are attracted to the idea so much. I hope you find some peace with this soon. I am here is you need some advice or just need to vent.
