That last paragraph is utterly spellbinding - transforms the rest of the story into something more, and it's so incredibly sad. My heart aches for them.

First of all, your icon: eep! *stares* OMG, I love it. But then I would. :D

Second: I'm glad you liked the fic, and extremely glad the last paragraph worked for you -- the idea was for the stakes of Harry's emotional blindness not to be quite clear until the end. I love, love, love, romance, but sometimes, you know, people miss things and make mistakes and there really does turn out to be such a thing as too late. :( Thanks again for commenting!

This fic is truly amazing. harry/draco as it should be: beautiful, sad and perfect.

And I loved this:
But his own life was a story that had begun long before his birth, and now it plunged relentlessly to its ending, leaving no time for digressions, for interludes, for long slow pauses of skin against skin.

Would you mind terribly, if I translate this fic into Russian language and publish it on Fanrus website (www.fanrus.ru)? I will state everywhere that I am just a translator and you are the author of the fic. Also, all the additional information (like your email or website) can be published, if you wish.

Hi! Wow, I'm incredibly flattered that you'd like the fic enough to want to take on the task of translating it. Of course you may do it. It would be nice if you'd link back to this Live Journal entry so people can find the story in English if they wish, and link as well to the main page of the LJ, since I don't have a web site for this ID. Also, it would be lovely if you'd send me a link to the translation once it's been posted.

Again, I'm delighted that you liked the fic. I'm a bit tentative about writing angst, since comedy is maybe my more natural mode, but it does seem to me that there's an underlying sadness to the H/D pairing, a very real possibility of opportunities that, once missed, could never be recovered. That's what I was trying to get at here, and it's very good to hear the fic worked for you. Thanks again for commenting!

This was excellent! Your writing is awesome and I loved the light, soft parts, the little ironic ones and angsty ones.
Very well done. Pimping. :)

i just read sweet over at skyehawke and found your LJ and this story. ohh, but you write both types of H/D stories i love.ones with a lovely touch of humour and ones that leave us angsting over the fate of these two characters, together or apart.

loved it. i'm friending you, hope that's ok :)

Hi there! Thanks so much -- friending is perfectly okay; I love meeting H/D fans *friends you back*. Also, anyone who has "The Poky Little Puppy" as a default icon has to be a good egg. :D I'm glad you liked the fics, and yeah, I do tend to veer between sweetness and angst, and it's very nice to hear that this veering doesn't upset you (it does upset some people who like to focus on one or the other).

Thanks again for stopping by to comment! :)
