Tempting the eternal murk

Right now I am surrounded by a bunch of really annoying high school children visiting from the various schools in the area. They have invaded my UC. I would be upset, but unlike the jadded and angry college students they actually still have a love for life. Take for example that three girls playing the piano. Its nice that someone finally plays ( Read more... )

But the question is, could you ever reach fart overload? Say your friend had to fart frequently, and told you about it every time. Would it eventually get to the point where you were just say, "geez fine, just shut up about your farts already, I know."

Lies, half truths and omissions are a way of not dealing with the full reality. Yes, it would be great if we could be open about everything all the time. But it would also be very time consuming. What if you did talk to that theoretical person about why they hate you? What if it was a really really indepth conversation? Now imagine doing that with every single pent up emotion or idea that ever occurs to you, then multiply it by everyone you know.

And you think you don't have time for homework NOW...

I don't think you should be open to everyone, nor should they be open to you. For example, psycho online date guy got all pissed off at me one day because I wasn't open enough to him. My question was why should I be? I barely even know him. And more importantly in his case I had no intention of knowing him further. So yes, being open is wonderful but I say you pick and choose who you're going to give full disclosure. And maybe even outline the limits of that because as you've said above your voice doesn't haven't five wavelengths and if everything truly means everything then you are more than likely to upset people with your thoughts from time to time so you'll need to be ready to deal with it. If you can't commit to telling everything then that needs to be clear from the beginning and you can't expect anyone else to give you that kind of complete openness either..
