Plague Diary: In Which I Have the Plague

In preparation for my gig in Cleveland, and because I had a minor gastric event, I submitted a saliva test, administered on Nov. 23rd.  Today, while at a rest stop in Illinois, I checked my email, and found that the result was positive.

You and me, both. So far, I really feel fine. A bit dragged out, but I did drive for like 9 hours today on insufficient sleep. I also just noticed a rash just under my collar bone. No idea if that's a COVID thing or not. Seems like practically anything _could_ be COVID. Thanks for the kind wishes.

I will certainly be taking another test. Probably more than one, if I wish to be cleared to work. But just at the moment, I'm in Indiana. And I expect I'll need to coordinate it with the Cleveland Clinic. The testing people say that there's a less than 1% chance that this was a false positive. But, yeah, more testing will happen.

Don't know what else to say but best wishes that it is a mild case from which you recover quickly, with no long-term effects.
