The Borgias 1x01 - The Pilot.First thing to be said: I was not disappointed. It was really well done. I love so much the casting I could just kiss everyone (and maybe multiple times for Cesare but that's another story ^^). It was hot but not with gratuitous sex (it was a lot tamer than I was expecting which is a very very nice surprise). It was ( Read more... )

After your review and the fact that Jeremy Irons is in it (a huge fan here) I'sooo gonna watch it! I love you, cause you inform me of the releases of the awesome stuff - first, Game of Thrones, now this. Gonna finish Dream High and download this!

I watched it and I loved it to bits. The actors are well-cast, esp sir Irons who's a real genius (his voice, his speeches, his power, how he persuades his son to help him, how he acts among the Cardinals, omg) is just awesome, and Arnaud is really good as Cesare, I mean, he's so cool and he does everything smoothly. As for his sister, I felt such a chemistry going on between her and Cesare I was shocked at first, then as the episode progressed I kinda fell in love with those two acting so affectionate towards each other. <3 All in all, I liked the pilot so much I need MOAR of the Borgias rn, can't wait for the official release of the series when I'll be able to watch an episode a week *__*

YESSSS!!!! Lol I'm somehow giggly while reading your review ^^.Cesare is smooth indeed. I love his line "excuse my monkey". I'm soooooooo going to use that line from now on ^^.
Oh and Irons is a freakin God. Love how random he makes Rodrigo so randomemotionnaly speaking sometimes ^^. He's a complete Godfather indeed :).

And I love so much the women already. It's been quite some time since I really felt something for the girls in a tv show. I mean you can already see that they are not here to play tapestry. Between those women and the ones from Games of Thrones, my heart will be complete XD.

I have to hand it to them, they couldn't have chosen a better cast. I remember people being iffy about François Arnaud because apparently he wasn't attractive enough (pftt) but it's nice to see everyone going crazy over him now.

I really loved the scenes between Cesare and Michelletto. The "torture" one in particular, hehe. I'm anxious to see where that partnership goes.

Another scene that stood out for me was the one between Julia and Rodrigo in the confessional. That was so...intense in a very sexual way. I found myself fanning myself after she walked away.

Not attractive enough? I thought the contrary :o. I was all "but he's so prettyyyyyy and Cesare is handsome but more in the magnetic style". And bam! HE NAILS THE ROLE. I mean the confessional scene between him and Jeremy Irons where he tries to make his father change his mind about him being an ecclesiastic was so greatly played. The delievery! Gosh! That was just incredible! "We're spaniards. They hate us." lkhdjkfsgkujfgsekhfl ( ... )
