It's so gorgeous outside. I wish i wasn't at work but then i get to leave in an hour and ten minutes!

I saw my old landlord yesterday- i forgot to mention on here that he sent us all a really badly written letter to our new address saying we wouldn't be getting our deposits back. Luckily this was only 50 pounds but it totally infuriated all three ( Read more... )

You know what I am still scared of that bit in Pet Sematary where his dead mother floats up in the back room, I always used to think she was floating up the stairs in giltbrook house!

Never forget the golden rule:

Photograph the shit out of the house when you move in/anything conks out, and get a witness to sign and date it.

Much harder for them to wiggle their way out of it.

I've only had 1 landlord who was an honest bloke, and he was nowhere near Nottingham.

Ignore his threat - go to Citezens, you might not be able to do much, but at least you'll feel better that you've tried and it'll shit him up a bit 9which is why i suspected he threatened you if you did).

Landlords: Fuck 'em.

I wouldn't mind being one though..... $money$ ;)

what Markchu said,

You could even wait till u have the remainder of the deposit back and then go if it makes you feel better,

my land lady in lincoln deducted £50 out of my deposit too for "cleaning" wtf she spent £50 on was behond me. I was going to write a letter back but I think it would have just been a wasted effort.

Landlord suck, im sure they go to some 'how to be a dick' college or something. I have been lucky in my last two houses, the one before was a shared house and she was a psyco, she even went to the effort of writing and posting a letter to me (at the smae addres) to chuck me out and got loads of money out of me too, grrrr i hate hat stupid cow!
This time i went round and listed all the faults and took photos, its not happening again!

Next time i shall be doing that! I'm not risking it happening again. There are a few other people on my journal who seem to be suffering exactly the same thing at the moment, too so it's definitely a 'i'm a landlord so automatically a tosser' thing!

I've suffered the 'cleaning' thing too. Did you have an inventory? For future reference it's good to note down any and all problems in the house that are there when you move on an inventory and have it signed by you and the landlord. Pictures are good too, for example of the garden in your case).

Landlords will take you for anything they can get!

Oh and making you pay more for going to citizen's adivce? Wish you had that recorded! Fecking bullshit that is, not to mention intimidation.

We didn't write anything down or take pictures- it sucks just a tad. It's definitely dodgy though but for the sake of 50 quid, it's not worth giving myself a breakdown and getting so worked up over putting him back in his place.

I've told him i didn't break his bed and cried in anger and frustration because he wouldn't listen and then he started to sound sympathetic, so i'm just going to leave it at that i think!
