"I have to confess, I'm not actually a rich girl."

---

It's been a long day and he can't wait to get out of the office. The phones have been ringing nonstop and there's enough paperwork on his desk that every few minutes some of it falls off of his desk.

It's an important time for the company and he should probably be giving his work his full attention, but his mind is filled by the Battle Subway Lady, and it's hard to concentrate on the mundane realities of his life when he could be thinking about her.

---

Lady Sasha is everything a Lady should be. She's graceful, beautiful, and strong, as well as wealthy enough that she can spend as much time on the Battle Subway as she wants without worrying that she could be spending her time more productively.

She's usually there in the evenings, for a few hours after the big commuter rush.

Tonight one of her opponents on the Super Single Line is a young girl, who probably hasn't been away from home all that long, but who still looks like she can handle whatever's thrown at her.

It turns out that however green this girl may look, she knows what she's doing. Sasha finds herself incredibly impressed, as the girl traps her by using trick to switch her pokémon's item to choice specs and then using torment, then proceeds to hit her hard and fast.

This was the kind of thing Sasha loved about the Battle Subway - there were infinite possibilities, you just had to look at things the right way and you could find that sometimes things just fit together.

Anyone could get to the top if they found the things that just worked.

---

It's not that he minds working itself, it's just that he wishes that his work meant something more.

He's just another faceless employee. No one cares if he has any brilliant ideas about how they could make the system more efficient. Half of the people in his building probably don't even know he exists.

But everyone would notice if he stepped outside the lines. And while it's agonizing for him to feel so disposable and worthless, it's still better than being hated.

---

It's getting late, so Sasha gets off of the train and heads to the counter to exchange her BP.

She twirls her lavender hat in her hands as she waits, contemplating her wins today and her one loss against that kid.

The attendant hands Sasha her items with a smile, which Sasha returns.

As she walks to the restroom she thinks about tomorrow, and how she can do even better.

She doesn't come out.

---

His phone rings as he exits the restroom. He considers smashing it up against something but just sighs and answers it.

"Sorry for calling so late, but there's been a minor setback. Could you stay late tomorrow night?" his boss asks.

He dearly wants to refuse - give up what precious little time he has to himself? - but he just says it's not a problem while hating himself and everyone around him.

"You're the best Sasha, we can always count on you."

"By day I'm just a Clerk♂."

A/N: Unfortunately I did remember the line wrong, and what's actually said is "I am sorry -- I lied. I am not a rich girl. The truth is I am just the daughter of a Clerk." WHICH IS MUCH LESS FUN. But w/e w/e.
