yeah. its not exactly the easiest read going around. kinda like one of those black diamond runs with a fuckload of moguls. i really struggled to read it in any greater than 10 page bursts. and i almost gave up with 80 pages to go. but by the end it realy got to me. i think its all in how you read it. there's too much temptation to try and fit this into some nice cosy narrative/metaphoric framework that will rationalise all the insanity. but the thing is, there is no rationalisation and at its root this is simply an excursion into burroughs mind and addiction; haunted, fucked, desperate, lost. the last chapter particularly really got to me. ill be interested to hear what you think.

will keep u posted. once samuel coleridge's ';rhyme ofthe ancient mariner' got its third mention i started liking it more. read a couple of internet essays and its becoming digestible. as you say its learning that its NOT OK and that that is actually OK, trying to make common sense of it just leaves u fucked.

when i read it there was one bit that filled me with a profound and shaking sense of horror, the rest was a bit of a drag i think.

sometimes it gets you, sometimes not.
