hi, my name is Randy and i'm 26. i guess i'm a cancer survivor. i was diagnosed with "lymphoblastic lymphoma" (which WebMD describes as "a very aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma [NHL], which often occurs in young patients") in Feb 2006. i went thru a regimen that included 6-months of chemo and about a month of radiation therapy. i also ( Read more... )

Hi Randy, it's nice to meet you (via LJ). I am considering a cancer survivor, though I have not yet been told that I am in remission, but hey, we are supposed to keep a positive attitude and that's what I'm doing. Oh, by the way my name is Yannick (Ya-neek), and I'm 26. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma 2 years ago, I can't believe I have been fighting this for 2 years. I happen to be suffering from a more aggressive form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have gone through 3 different types of chemo without ever having gone into remission. The first chemo was a standard chemo regiment of ABVD, in the beginning it seemed to be working and then half-way through I stopped responding and the cancer spread more. Then I had to do what they call a second-line chemo to get the cancer back under control and shrink the cancer sites. Over the summer I was give a high dose chemotherapy and had a autogolous stem-cell transplant (used to be called a bone marrow transplant). Right now all the lumps I could feel are gone and I am anxiously waiting for ( ... )
