habit - non AU, Chanyeol/ Baekhyun
Baekhyun is a fast walker, Chanyeol has noticed, as he, long-legged and all, has to speed up a little to keep up with the shorter man.
But Baekhyun, fast as he walks, has this tendency to go in the wrong direction.
When they have their manager lead their way, it hardly happens; but Chanyeol clearly remembers that one time it did, and how he got secondhand embarrassment from watching Baekhyun head for the direction opposite to everyone else's.
Except, well, it wasn't really secondhand embarrassment. Hadn't it been for the manager, Chanyeol would have totally gone that way too.
Chanyeol mentally facepalms every time he recalls shouting "Baekhyun-ah!!!" and waving and smiling like an idiot. And the fans freaking laughed at them, oh gosh.
He wanted to smack at Baekhyun's head or something, but when the other approached and smiled at him, sticking his tongue out and mouthing "We look so silly" to no one but Chanyeol, everything else became irrelevant.
Chanyeol doesn't fancy being laughed at all the time, though. He might deliberately put on an idiotic smile at times, for entertainment; but he's an idol and he has an image to maintain.
So does Baekhyun, the cause of all this. And thus, Chanyeol takes a mental note to walk right next to Baekhyun and hold his arm whenever they are out to steer him from the wrong way.
His habit of holding on to Baekhyun's arm started as more of a duty he assigned himself with. Over the time, though, Chanyeol realises he actually enjoys how he can grab at the smaller man's upper arm with just one hand, how he can comfortably throw his arm over Baekhyun's shoulders after catching up with him (since their height difference is perfect). Sometime maybe he is ahead of Baekhyun, but Chanyeol knows that the other is merely an arm away from him. Even if he blindly reached backward, somehow they will still find a way to connect, which never fails to make Chanyeol smile.
Because for him, nothing has ever felt so right.

On the day his mom left him behind with his grandparents for a brand new life, the rain was pouring down like no end, and ever since Chanyeol has never been fond of rainy days. Especially when he was stuck at a bus stop knowing the last bus has left just two minutes ago, and with a stranger who is singing rather happily as if he doesn't care at all. Or maybe he's not at his right mind, Chanyeol thinks he doesn't need to know for his own sake.
"You look uncomfortable. Anything wrong?" - the voice almost freaked Chanyeol out. It's velvety and a little husky, very pleasant to his ears if Chanyeol is honest to himself, but the question is completely ridiculous. Who can be happy after missing the last bus of the day when there is heavy rain like this? This guy is seriously something.
"My house is quite far from here, and I've just missed the bus. Plus it's raining." - it takes all of his politeness to make a reply. You have to look at the other's face when you reply to them (Chanyeol thinks so) and for a second Chanyeol is dazzled by the stranger. Half a second later, although, he 's pissed by the big grin on his pretty face. "You don't like rain?"
"You do?" - Chanyeol hissed quietly.
"When it rains, I feel refreshed. I love listening to water splatter on window panes, the rhythm is fantastic, and watching raindrops forming bubbles on the ground is actually very amusing. You should try." - he smiles a mesmerizing smile that makes Chanyeol's heart beat a lil faster.
"Sounds nice." Sounds stupid actually, but Chanyeol feels like raining a bit now. There is something in that voice which warm his heart though he doesn't know why. "Is your house far from here? If it doesn't stop raining I don't know if I can go home tonight..."
"Mine is just a few blocks away." Chanyeol's eyes widened, and when he's still not recovered from the shock, the stranger takes out a folded umbrella from his bag (Chanyeol notices it just now) and opens it. "If you don't mind you can come over my place, I don't think the rain will stop anytime soon."
Sorry I'm not the type who sleep over at stranger's house esp someone who leaves his warm shelter on a rainy night watching the rain at a bus stop, Chanyeol wants to say, but somehow he's nodding instead. "I'll be very grateful, but what about your family? I'm afraid..."
"Oh I live on my own, no worry. My name's Baekhyun, by the way."
Inviting a stranger to your house at night, are you at your right mind, Baekhyun-sshi? "I'm Chanyeol. Thank you very much." - he gives out a hand (for a handshake, everyone knows that) and Baekhyun hands him the umbrella right away. "Oh yes, I forget, you're the taller one, you'll hold it."
You're such a freak.
