Desperate times call for desperate measures

I'm trying to be good. I'm really, really, really trying to be good. I want to lose weight. I want to get back in shape before going to Scotland. I've lost a couple of pounds lately, nothing to "reward" myself for, but I'm happy. So this morning before I leave for work, I actually put 4 Girl Scout cookies into a baggie as a "test" to myself. Yes!

That's right!

Don't do it, Lynda!!

Now back away from the cookies ... Slowly ...

Food is just food. Don't let it control you. And if you're looking for something sweet, without the worst of the calories, I could send you a few recipes. :)

Really. The very fact that you had cookies in your purse all day and didn't eat them impresses me no end.

Lynda! We were strong! We did not eat the cookies! Aren't we proud of ourselves? ;)

And I'm always open to new recipes that cut back on calories. I'd love it if I sent to to myself....er if you sent them to you....er...you know what I mean.

Oh, and I can hardly wait to try one of the strawberry recipes! It's almost that time of year again...

We are strong and we are proud of ourselves! Go us!! *grin*

I will definitely send you some low-cal recipes so you can have your cake and eat it too. ;) Either I'll type them out and email them, or I'll go the lazy route and photocopy, stick 'em in an envelope, then let the post office do the rest. Because, as you know, being strong and proud takes a lot out of a gal, lol!

And as for those strawberry recipes, you can probably make a few alterations so that they're low-cal too. :)

Yay, Lynda!! I'm with you. I just updated my journal with the same kind of thoughts. I want to be the me I like again, not this chubby, round soft, person I'm becoming. Doesn't mean we can't have our indulgences, but maybe just not as many. Time to get serious and take ourselves back. :)

"The me I like again" - you said it! I have not seen that girl in about a year, and I'm determined to find her again. She's underneath this mushy stuff on my hips somewhere...:D

We can do this!!!!!!!!

did you torture yourself just to test your willpower? lol Silly girl! Good luck Lynda. I've had zero, ZERO willpower lately. I leave for NO next Thurs and you can bet I'll gain another 5 b/f coming back from FL...oh and then Vegas the next weekend. ugh! I'd like to lose some b/f Reno, but after I get back from vacation I'll have about 14 weeks. That's not even enough time if I starve myself. Everytime I see Judith she's slimmer than me. lol

Kiss, kiss

I don't know. It does seem rather absurd, doesn't it? LOL! But Michael ate some GS cookies last night after supper, and I wanted some sooooo bad, but I ate another orange and a piece of cheese instead. At least they weren't completely empty calories ( ... )

I haven't heard of him! Thanks for the link. I'm going to check some of that out. I liked Cooking Thin with Chef KAthleen, but I'm not sure if it's still on. The one thing I don't like about her recipes is that she doesn't list fat and calories. She just believes in healthy and good for you. Nice but I need to figure points. ;)

RIGHT! It is soooo not worth it! Good for you, Lynda! And that was great of you to spit out the old Tootsie Roll. Why bother eating something that tastes bad when it's also bad for you? Don't waste those calories.

We shall prevail, I am so feeling your pain.

Karen, that's the exact thought I had. That tootsie roll did not taste good, so why waste the calories? Even if it was an itty bitty one. LOL

How is Bryce? I love that picture of that cutie patootie!
