Things to Read When You're in Quarantine

All this swine flu talk has been making me think about how much I enjoy a good pandemic. In novel form, at least. One of my favorite micro-genres of fiction is the 1918 influenza epidemic. Who knew that one little flu virus could contribute so much to literature? Some of the best:

I cannot tell you how many times I've read The Secret Garden. I cannot get enough of that book.

Also, really enjoyed Memories of a Catholic Girlhood.

And... considering I am achy and feverish today, perhaps I should go home from work and checkout some of the others on your list.

just don't read the stand while you're sick! it's too scary. though actually, i guess all the scary stuff happens mostly to people who don't get sick, so you might be fine.
