My grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary is coming up and I have no idea what to do for it.  The only family around here is me, aunt, and a cousin.  I want to do something special, but have no idea what.  They don't want 'stuff' b/c who knows how much longer they'll be in their house etc...

last year for xmas marc's sister bought their grandparents a digital picture frame and loaded with tons of family pictures. it was pretty cool. do you thing they would like something like that? it would be cool if you had picutres of their wedding and when their kids were little and stuff.

yeah that is a good idea! I would have to have someone get more pics though for sure.
I wish I knew what they wanted to do before they die, like if there is something they've always wanted to do, but they are pretty old. I wish I could get my grandma to visit her sister who is about to die in az, but I don't think either can really travel.

I like that digital picture frame idea. You could add old pictures gathered from other people. They would love to see them. Old people like technology, and think it is absurd at the same time.
Could you somehow get a video of her sister in Arizona saying hi?
Find a way to make them laugh. Put on a musical for them about their lives and enlist some little kids to do the acting. That would be funny.

oooo that video idea is great! I would have to get in touch with her sisters kids to see if they have a video camera. I could also have my uncle send a video, I know he has a camera.

Hmmm... sixtieth anniversary is diamonds and fifth is wood.

I'm thinking a six pack in a wooden bucket of ice. Unless they have health issues, people enjoy a beer in their later years too.

Article from New York about a Lincoln Healthcare facility. Read about the happy hour so you don't think I'm off my rocker.

You could get all of their elderly friends together and take them to Old Country Buffet!

The Old Cooot! I think that is just a really cruel way to end peoples lives old or young. (No offense to your grandparents lynden)
