I got my ER bill for my leg:  $1,200 and I had an infection 2 days later and they were rude and it was just a horrible experience.  I guess I'll call and complain, but I feel like that won't do anything.

When I got a new tire a few weeks ago, the place had a sign that said "Prices may vary depending on the customer's attitude".

I think more places need to adopt that theory.

1. Call Patient Relations and tell them about the infection, and the bad experience.

2. Never go to Methodist's ER ever again. Stick to UNMC, Lakeside and, as a last resort, Creighton. All the rest are garbage.

Usually you can bargain down a bill if you don't have insurance. Just be really nice to the person and cry a little, tell them your experience was horrible.

i read some article on cnn about medical bills, it says often times if you complain, or say you don't have the money, or offer to make a payment plan they can sometimes lower it. worth a try for $1,200!
