Lyndsie's Holiday Fic Competition
I've been feeling really uncreative lately, but I love Christmas/holiday fic, so I've decided to add another competition to the mix.
SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE
-Completely original. This is going to be anonymous so there's no bias on my end. That said, the fic needs to be written by you and never published, or I might have already read it and know the author. Co-written fics are okay, but there will still only be one prize per fic.
-No more than 10,000 words.
-Submitted by midnight PST on December 20, 2011 to this form.
-Fanfiction, any fandom, or original fiction.
THE JUDGE
Me! Now for some hints on things I like. My preferred fandom is HP, Draco/Ginny and Draco/Hermione. I have an open mind and although I'm not familiar with fandom in the following, I would love to see fic in it: Battlestar Galactica, Being Erica, Bones, Castle, Doctor Who, Eureka, Glee, Haven, Lord of the Rings, NCIS, Supernatural, Tamora Pierce series, The Office, Warehouse 13. This list is not all inclusive, so if you'd like to know how familiar I am with any other fandom, ask! You can still write anything you like; stories will be judged on how much of a Christmasy mood they put me in, so I don't necessarily have to know anything about the characters or backstory. They don't even have to include anything Christmas-related, as long as they put me in a holiday mood. I'll let you interpret that as you will.
PRIZES
1st prize - A handknit HP house scarf (or not HP) by me! A $25 Amazon or Visa gift card.
2nd prize - A handknit HP house scarf (or not HP) by me! A $15 Amazon or Visa gift card.
3rd prize - A handknit HP house scarf (or not HP) by me!
These are minimums. Prizes may change, but only to get better. (I may add a few odds and ends.) Keep in mind that in order to redeem all of your prize I will need an address to mail stuff to, but it will be kept in strictest confidence. You can feel free to submit more than one story, but only one prize will be awarded per person; if more than one fic by the same person places, they'll get the prize for their highest placing fic, and then the next prize will go to the next winner.
Submissions are due by December 20, 2011. Winners will be announced within a week after that.
