<333 I agree with you for the most part, but then again... come to school with me some day. You'd see America's youth for what I see them as. I'm lucky to not have to deal with "normal kids" every day. I have a freaking elitist attitude because well... I am better than a lot of people I go to school with. Out of my graduating class of say 400 students (it's really like... 380ish or so but say 400 for simplicity...), there are about 100 that I would be willing to associate with because I wouldn't feel like I was constantly having to talk down to them. But it's not because the students are dumb. It really isn't. I think a lot more people at my school are smart and have the ability to do a lot more, but it's easy to be lazy ( ... )

yep - I agree. Undoubtedly there are americans at every end of the spectrum from complete idiot to genius. I will maintain there are people populating the same spectrum all over the globe. My irritation comes in when I have to deal with this never ending barrage of attitude, putting down Americans and our country. It's an air of superiority with some of them - "We're European therefore we are better than you cowboy americans" Don't get me wrong, I have several dear friends in European countries and I'm not lumping in all Europeans together and accusing them all of having this attitude. It just really got to me today - the little tongue in cheek cutsie jokes about American stupidity....In some ways I wish we COULD adopt a complete isolationist policy and let them all have at it over there. We are, however a part of the world and cannot isolate ourselves from it.
