Tell her that you find her complaining about financial situations ridiculous. You've offered her solutions about how to fix it, and she's not listening to you, so complaining to you is pointless.
I've done it before. She'll stop. Or at the very least, she'll think twice about the true "gravitiy" of her situation and what she'll say about it (to you, or anyone). Either way, you'll be helping her out by making her check herself before she just rambles on, complaining about something she is in total control of.
Basically, you don't know her real motivation in complaining, so you shouldn't have to put up with it, and you should tell her so ( in the nicest way possible, of course...don't quote ME, or anything... ^_^ )
The problem is that I have told her this before and yet she wants me to just listen to it anyway. She thinks that if I am her best friend that I should just put up with it. If you knew her you would understand how she is and probably would not be her friend because she it too much.
I've gotten to where I just put the phone down and let her go. It is the only thing that keeps me sane.
It is true, I have seen her set the phone down, or just hold it away from her head.
But don't worry about it. I will take care of it, next time I see her, I will set her straight.
I have had friends that do this, or something like this. Really the only thing you can do is inform them of how you feel, and if they don't listen, do it again.... .. .. only louder.
