I've been looking for a great new read. I read Cat's Eye years ago and loved it. I had A Suitable Boy, but lost it in the flood. I'm going to see if B&N has it available for my nook :)

hated but a few that I thoroughly enjoyed, Cat's Eye being one of them. Alias Grace was another (I listened to that on audiobook and it was read by a wonderful reader, actress Elizabeth McGovern)

I let this book sit on my shelf for years because, after I picked it up, I read so many negative comments about Atwood. I will try Alias Grace next. Interesting how some authors write a book we love and the next one just doesn't draw us in, and others are so consistent, like Elizabeth Berg.

It really is a gem. Picked it up at a used book sale. Have to wonder how long it took SV to write this work. The detail is amazing. You are practically living the characters lives along with them.
