Maybe it's the unusual proximity of the moon to Earth, but lately I've been super-charged and on a refresh, replace, renew, revisit binge. I've been spending money like I have it. I’ve rearranged furniture, added new art pieces to newly painted walls, and replaced everything from landscape plants to major appliances, including the kitchen sink. ( Read more... )

You don't *need* to hear it, but I'm going to toss in an "Atta girl!" anyway. I've found that when most people discuss life-changing epiphanies it's often met with a "that's nice dear" and some awkward fidgeting. Having been there myself, I think they deserve fireworks and dancing. Well, you have the dancing covered ;)

*I'll quit tomorrow* that smokers often say, or the *I'll start tomorrow* long-lamented mantra of dieters, I have been there myself, too many times.

My default seems to be, having the epiphany, getting myself in gear, then fizzling out as my energy level wanes. I will never have your high energy and I have come to accept that as a fact of (my) life. Apparently, the thyroid pills either aren't effective or just don't cover that.

Anyhow, I will add my congrats and just have to say enjoy and revel in it. You, if anyone, deserve it!

Speaking of thyroid pills, I intend to bring up that issue with my doctor, if and when I get around to actually making an appt. After two years of dancing and as active as I am, I cannot drop a pound. NOT BLOODY ONE. And I eat a very healthy diet. D has dropped close to 50 lbs. And I get so tired. Going to push for the thyroid tests for sure.
I sure wish you lived closer. You are one person I would love to be able to hang out with on a regular basis.

I very much agree with your position on remaining caring. I don't think I will ever lose that side of who I am. I'm not bitter or closed off, I'm just becoming more selective of who I invest in (in terms of my energy). I'm not taking in as many strays -- and by 'strays', I mean needy, draining people. For the longest time, I just felt sucked dry - No More.

And, YES, I am in love with this Tanzanite ring. The dealer is out of L.A., and from Hong Kong. They make most of their own jewelry and only work trade shows. They are on Facebook - Lo Rador and have a web site. Give them a look.
