Um, that was fucking amazing, the perfect anti-epic-romance romance. I love these two so fucking much, and everyone sees them as "bros", but who's to say that's not what being "soulmates" should really be about? Love it.

How did I not know that I was missing this in my life? All my Pucktana feelings are back. It went from my solid #2 Santana ship to being replaced with Pezberry, but this is sooo perfect that I think I'll just have to declare a tie.

Ugh this is exactly what I want from Pucktana. All mildly dysfunctional (I hate you means I love you), both of them crass and unapologetic, disdainful of stereotypical romance, and of course hot.

Mildy dysfunctional romance is how I ship them - I can't deny it. They're just hilariously awesome.

Okay so I should preface this by saying that I have a pretty strong natural bias against Pucktana, but I really, really enjoyed reading this piece. I believed it on an emotional and literary level-- something for which the bar is set fairly low for Brittana (basically, write the words "Brittany and Santana" and I'm already there), but very high for Pucktana... and you've more than exceeded it

What's your general bias against Pucktana. I know a lot of people that have one, but that usually stems from a "I can't ship anyone with Santana that's not Brittany" angle, so I'm curious to know if yours is any different.

I'm really flattered, regardless, that this fic worked for you. Especially considering that I was working uphill. I think Santana and Puck work on a similar emotional level which is why this fic was more of a literall falling into love instead of a more challenging journey. They sort of just end up there without trying because neither of them really have it in them to try

It is different-- although I do generally stay within the Brittana pairing. I find Puck very difficult to relate to as a character, and, honestly, I usually just don't like him (which, from the perspective of fic, is not a legitimate literary aversion, but you asked so I'm being honest haha.) I've never read romantic Pucktana before for this reason, but I usually don't even like friendship Pucktana because my head!canon of Santana is someone who would act tough but actually would be genuinely hurt by the casual sexism of someone like Puck. Your Puck and Santana, here, though, are different. I had to abandon a lot of my head!canon to read it but it absolutely works both by the rules of canon (apart from Santana's lesbianism) and by its own terms. I like that their harshness towards each other is portrayed many times within the fic as tentative and nervous, like it's a way for them to reach out to the other while they watch to see how the other responds. I like their dynamic, and I believe it
