Work has been eating my life. It's been crazy-busy since Jan. 1, so this is my first post of 2016. And of course, I want to talk about TV.
I love everything about this show: the colorful sets, the lighting, the LA sunshine, the clothes! Peggy and Jarvis and Howard and Daniel. The new physicist, Dr. Wilkes, is very handsome and he and Peggy have great chemistry together. I'm still kinda rooting for Peggy/Daniel long-term, but I'd be happy with Peggy/Wilkes,too.
I wish we had more than 8 episodes a season. :(
VAMPIRE!CAMI! This is gonna be awesome. Klaus has been so besotted with Cami's goodness and compassion and it's going to be a DELIGHT to watch as his illusions of his One Special Girl are ripped to bloody shreds. Also, Leah Pipes is killing it as always, and I could watch her and Joseph Morgan in every scene. SO SO GOOD.
I never cared about Jackson, but I gotta admit, his death was brutal and Haley's horror at it was riveting to watch. Nice work, Phoebe Tonkin.
Tristan's fate is the very definition of hell. At least Rebekah was daggered when they dumped her body in the ocean.
And speaking of hell...
I was ready to give up on TVD before the break. But I do like the sudden turn it took at the end of last night's episode. This is gonna suck for everyone, but especially Damon and Bonnie. I will enjoy watching her be super-pissed when she wakes up.
I get what the writers were trying to do with Damon's torments in hell. He can never forgive others for hurting him, and so he Must Learn Forgiveness if he expects the rest of the people in his life to forgive him for - oh, say, trying to kill them all because he thinks they're not real. Fair enough. But in the real world, sometimes people commit crimes and offenses that you just can't forgive, and there's nothing wrong with that. Forgiveness is a choice, and no one should be forced to make it.
Having said that, Ian Somerhalder was SUPERB in this episode. I love watching him play young!Damon. He's like an entirely different character.
To sum up: January sucks, except for the end of hiatus.
