The Originals 3.13
This was such a great episode! I loved the moment between Klaus and Haley on the park bench. It's been a while since the show reminded us that these are two parents, both in love with their daughter, both willing to do anything to protect her from life's biggest bad - which, let's face it, is her family. Not only was it a great moment between them, but it was beautifully shot. The use of the outdoor space, the memorial tree for Jackson, the natural light, all made it feel quiet and poignant.
I love that Haley and Cami had some real interaction in this episode. This show needs more sisterhood moments, and this was a great one. Now if they can just bond with Freya, they could win over Klaus every time.
Klaus being Klaus was hilarious. "Do you talk to your other sister this way?" YES FREYA OF COURSE HE DOES. And Elijah trying to be all mature: "Put the poor creature down, Niklaus." *thud* "That's not what I meant." LOL.
Danielle Campbell doesn't have quite the same chemistry with Nathaniel Buzolic as she did with Daniel Sharman, but I'm still shipping Kol/Davina. I like their witchy bond, and they're both lovely to look at.
Not as much of Marcel this week, but I completely enjoyed his "takeover" of the Strix last week. He's at his best when he's speechifying. Orate, Marcel, orate!
Who the heck is babysitting Hope, now that Jackson is dead and ALL her relatives are out in the woods hunting Aurora or doing Fight Club or being buried alive? sandrine and I were discussing it in comments, and she mentioned that she has "this mental image of spirit!Finn grudgingly watching over Hope and being all, 'This kid is an abomination, why does it have to be so cute?' and being strangely proud when Hope's using her magic to set Klaus' paintings on fire."
I would pay money to see that.
