- Some very entertaining banter in this episode. "Do you have devolve into crippling paranoia already?" / "It's a default setting." Snerk. And, "I killed him and 5 of his most troublesome brothers." / "And his mistress." / "That was an accident." LOL. The editing on those exchanges was rapid-fire, reminiscent of some of The Simpsons' better moments. I like it when this show does comedy. It's funny because it's absurd.
- Great family reunion moment with Kol.
- The main plotline was pretty meh. Didn't care about Sea of Cortez or whatever the hell his name was. Though I did like Kol's joke to Klaus about the flood of enemies out to get him. "Maybe you should have been a little nicer to people." Bwah!
- The sub-plot with Haley taking revenge on all the Strix who killed Jackson was more interesting. I liked how Elijah decided to finish the job for her, in order to protect her from his own tribe. It's so typically Elijah, paternalistic and ultimately doomed.
- And speaking of doomed, I liked Haley's goodbye to him. It was honest and painful. And Elijah's response was perfect: "That seems like the right thing to do. I tried it myself. It didn't work." I don't ship them AT ALL so I'm quite happy to never see them get together, but it did leave the door open to future opportunities, which I'm sure the ship's fans will appreciate.
- JOSH. I was very happy to see Josh again. His scenes with Marcel and Davina are always a delight.
- Great moment when Cami told Klaus that she no longer loved him. You could tell it was a lie designed to send him away, but she's smart to do so. She's right - she can't rely on Klaus, or anyone else, to protect her. The only one she can really count on is herself.
- Poor Davina. In love with a blood-sucking monster. She and Cami should start a support group.
- KLAUS AND HALEY AND HOPE ON THE ROAD IN AN SUV. They are the typical nuclear family on vacation. Haley looked so sad leaving; Jackson's death really did break her, didn't it?
- I love that Vincent found the last white oak bullet. He's always been a formidable enemy, but this makes him even more so.
- How the hell did Finn get magicked back to life? I'm happy to see him, because more family drama is always awesome, but where the hell did he come from?
And now, apparently, we have hiatus until April 1? BOOOOO.
