Well, you know I'm very pro "Let's embrace the Mystery!" I have a few friends who are pro-science and they see Mystery and Grace there as well. I respect that. I see it too. I just get annoyed when the scientists (or "rationals," as they call themselves) see those who claim God as faulty or lacking intelligence ( ... )

I should clarify my first paragraph. I have friends who are atheists and who firmly live in the "science explains everything" camp. I believe the dichotomy between science and religion is false and many people of science (including astrophysicists) believe in a greater mysterious power that cannot be explained with mathematical formulae. It is those atheists (exemplified by Richard Dawkins) who treat people of faith as simpletons who just need to see the light of rationality that set my teeth on edge.

See, I think that's one thing I don't understand -- why does there have to be such a dichotomy between science and religion? I have a hard time believing something to be so cut and dry. I also have a hard time articulating what I actually think or where I think the middle ground or intertwined relationship is, but I think there is some sort of relationship between the two ( ... )

I'm glad you're investigating. Nothing pisses me off more than people who are extreme. I come off as more science than religion but then I'm kind of down on all organized religion as they are man made creations and in my own mind have nothing to do with God ( ... )
